Death by suicide is a problem of men’s health.
Men are much more likely than women to die by suicide, and often less willing to discuss emotional conflicts with family, friends or their doctors. But, according to NAMI (National Alliance for Mental Illness), the offer of help can make a huge difference. When offered advice and support from a respected and trusted individual, men do listen, and respond. In other words, by recognizing your pain or the pain of a loved one, you can help to prevent suicide.
